Who we are
CloseMyBusiness.ca ("we", "us") helps Canadian business owners understand and organize the steps involved in closing a business. We are not a law firm, accounting firm or insolvency trustee.
What we collect
Information you give us: your name, email, phone number, province, details about your business, debts, assets, employees and documents you upload.
Information collected automatically: basic technical data such as browser type, pages visited and campaign (UTM) tags from the link you clicked.
How we use it
To run the free check, build your closing plan, prepare documents for professional review, contact you about your file, and improve the service.
We do not sell your personal information.
Who we share it with
We share your information only when you instruct us in writing (for example, to brief your accountant or lawyer), with service providers who help us run the site under confidentiality obligations, or when a subpoena or court order requires it.
Your information is confidential but is not legally privileged, as it would be with a lawyer.
AI features
If you switch on the optional AI agent, the information you enter may be processed by automated tools to answer your questions. The agent does not give legal or tax advice.

We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information. Data may be stored on servers located outside your province or outside Canada. No system is completely secure.
